It's Contest Time!

A while ago I posted a review and installed a button from Emergency Essentials on my website and for my troubles received two separate $10 gift cards.  Initially, I looked at their site wondering what I could do with $20 in free monies, then I thought about another option.

What can you buy with $20?  Specifically, what kind of survival kit / get home kit can you buy for $20?  Think, stranded in town a ways off from home with nothing other than what's in your pockets  and Andy Jackson in your wallet.  You walk into a store (or two, or three) and for no more than that $20 you buy what you need to get home / stay alive for a few days.  Think Worst case scenario get home bag type thing.

My thoughts for this contest:
First, be honest.
This is a very good "think outside box before you are forced to" kind of exercise.
Please be as thorough as possible.  Include pics and an itemized list with prices (With applicable sales tax if appropriate.  The Taxman don't take the end of the world off.)
The best kits will include things for shelter, fire, and water.  The more complete the better.  How will you carry all of this?  Maybe you will want some food...

So, say a month from now I'll stop taking entries.  I'll take what you give me and then I will then post pictures and lists of the submitted kits to which I will add a poll.  I will mail the cards to the person with the highest vote count.

I also think this could be a good opportunity to take a kid with you and show them about this kind of thinking.  See where they are at in survival kit thinking and help them understand that Twix aren't survival food and though they are not supposed to use them with out you, a lighter could save their lives. I will also be building one of these kits just to see what I can come up with, with the intent of giving it to my son.  Maybe I'll even let him build one with me, we'll see.

Entries accepted from 9-3-11 to 10-3-11. (just to clarify)

This sound good?  Comment me if you have suggestions, otherwise, happy shopping...
